The first audition stuff is nothing more than 8 simple exercises that show your tone, tonguing, slurring, dexterity, and range. There is also a technical/lyrical piece of your choice; However, the bulk of the audition is visual.
The visual audition is happening the entire time and you get pulled out of it to do your music audition. It doesn't matter how good of a player you are if you can't move well. The same is true for the opposite.
You need to do well in both categories in order to be considered for a callback. Good Luck on the audition.
